Red Ribbon Week Downtown Scavenger Hunt

“Life is a Puzzle, Solve It Sober”

When: Monday, October 27 – Sunday, November 14th, 2025
Where: Downtown Burlington
Who: ABSS students ages 5–14 (elementary & middle school)

How it works

1. Visit each participating location and collect all 9 puzzle pieces.
2. Assemble your puzzle.
3. On the back of the puzzle, a parent or guardian must print clearly in ink/marker:
   • Child’s first name & last initial
   • Age & school
   • Parent/guardian name, phone, and email

1. Take two photos:
   • Front  (completed puzzle)
   • Back (contact  info) — please do not include your child’s face in the photos

1. Email both photos to alamancedfc@gmail.com by 11:59 PM, Sun Nov 14.
2. Drawing date: Mon, Nov 16, 2025. Prize: a new bicycle for one (1) winner!

Helpful info

• The hunt runs for 18 days, so families can participate at their own pace.
• All locations are within a few blocks downtown — a fun family walk!
• Look for the Red Ribbon puzzle-piece sign in each shop window.

Official Rules & Terms (Summary)

Sponsor. Alamance Citizens for a Drug Free Community (ACDFC), Burlington, NC.

Eligibility. Open to ABSS students ages 5–14. One entry per student. No purchase or payment required. Void where prohibited.

Promotion Period. 12:01 AM Mon, Oct 27 – 11:59 PM Fri, Nov 14, 2025 (ET).

How to Enter. Complete the scavenger hunt and submit the two required photos by the deadline. Participation is free and voluntary.

Winner Selection. One (1) winner chosen by random drawing on Mon, Nov 17, 2025 from all eligible entries received. Odds depend on number of valid entries.

Prize. One (1) bicycle (ARV $ 150). Prize not transferable; no cash alternative. Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if needed.

Notification. Parent/guardian will be contacted via email/phone within 48 hours of the drawing. If unreachable within 5 days, an alternate winner may be selected.

Taxes. Any taxes or fees on the prize are the responsibility of the winner’s parent/guardian.

Privacy & Children’s Info. Entries must be submitted by a parent/guardian. Do not include a child’s face in photos. Information collected (child’s first name/last initial, age, school; parent contact) is used only to administer the drawing and will be securely deleted within 60 days.

Safety & Conduct. Follow traffic and pedestrian laws, respect store hours and staff. Sponsor may disqualify entries that are incomplete, late, or not consistent with these rules.

Liability Release. By participating, parent/guardian agrees to release and hold harmless ACDFC and participating businesses from any claims arising from participation or prize use, except for gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Publicity. With parental consent, Sponsor may announce winner’s first name, last initial, school, and city. Photos will not be posted without separate permission.

Accessibility. If a student cannot complete the hunt due to mobility, transportation, or accessibility limitations, email alamancedfc@gmail.combefore Nov 9 to arrange an alternative way to participate.
